Some interesting thoughts about a new paradigm shift in search – Social Graph Based Search:

Part I of Social Graph Based Search. 14:41 minutes.
Part II of Social Graph Based Search. 15 minutes.
And a bonus round III. 6 minutes.

iPhone in the UK on O2

Posted in Uncategorized by christoph on the August 22nd, 2007

It seems as if O2 had struck the deal with Apple:

The contract was signed by T-Mobile of Germany, Orange of France and O2 in the UK, people familiar with the situation told FT Deutschland, the Financial Times’s sister paper.

The operators are set officially to announce the partnerships at the IFA trade fair in Berlin at the end of August.

T-Mobile, Orange and O2 declined to comment on Tuesday.

Where are all the UFOs?

Posted in Uncategorized by christoph on the August 19th, 2007

Here’s another one of my theories: We can assume the number of video cameras per person has drastically increased thanks to all the video phones in the past couple of year. Also can we assume that thanks to YouTube and co. it is much easier for everyone to upload and share their videos with the masses. Assuming that the number of UFO sightings in the world stays constant, the number of video footage and evidence should increase. It’s a simple equation. But is it the case? Or will it be the case? We’ll see.

Certainly the number of fakes increases by with the amounts of possibilities of nowadays special effects software:

China’s iPhone Fake Copy

Posted in Uncategorized by christoph on the August 11th, 2007

China is a good place to produce large quantities of products in a cost effective way. What we all have to be aware though is that whilst the products are being produced there, they are also being copied. In some cases, they even create complete “shadow factories”, copies of the factories that produce the original product, to copy the product itself.

Samsung was impressed by the efficiency of the cloners, so much so that the company offered them jobs. The cloners said no. Earning about $1.25 per phone, the cloners said, they found it easier and more profitable to make fakes. The only known result of the investigation? Samsung now takes care to release products in China shortly after they come out in Korea. Its only defense is to give cloners a smaller window of opportunity.

This is probably the most amazing pictogram I have ever seen on the Web. It only works on Windows though. Check it out:
